Beef Chow Mein Recipe
Ingredients
* 3/4 lb Round steak
* 1 Tablespoon Soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon Salt
* 1 Tablespoon Sugar
* 8 Fresh mushrooms (optional)
* 1/2 lb Bean sprouts
* 6 oz Bamboo shoots (can)
* 3 ea Green onions
* 2 cup Beef stock
* 2 Tablespoon Cornstarch
* 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
* 2 cup dried egg noodles
Directions
1. Cut beef about 1 inch long, 1/2 inch wide and as thin as possible.
2. Mix the salt, sugar and soy sauce together. Add the beef and marinate for at least one hour.
3. Wash and slice the mushrooms, including stems. Slice the bamboo into thin strips; slice the scallions into 1 inch pieces. Soak, rinse and drain the bean sprouts.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the cornstarch and beef stock together (beef stock must be room temperature).
5. Drain the beef reserving the marinade.
6. Heat the sesame oil and stir-fry the beef for 4 to 5 minutes. Add the cornstarch mixture and reserved marinade, bring to a boil stirring constantly
7. Add all the vegetables and simmer for 5 minutes longer.
8. Cook noodles in boiling water for 4 to 5 minutes or until tender; drain thoroughly.
9. Place cooked noodles on a plate, top with beef mixture.
