Hong Kong Slaw Recipe




This yummy slaw is so easy to make and keeps a couple of days in the fridge if covered. Although it can be served immediately it really develops the flavors if refrigerated an hour or two before eating.

Ingredients
* 4 cups cabbage, shredded
* 1 cup carrots, shredded
* 1 onion, finely chopped
* 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
* 1/3 cup mayonnaise
* 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
* 1/2 teaspoon red chili sauce (any brand)
* 1/4 teaspoon sugar
* 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or chopped peanuts (optional)
* salt and pepper to taste

Directions
1. Combine cabbage, carrots and onions in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Whisk together vinegar, mayonnaise, sesame oil, red chili sauce, and sugar until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste if needed.
3. Pour dressing over shredded vegetables and toss to combine.
4. Top with sesame seeds or chopped peanuts if desired.
5. Serve immediately or chill an hour before serving.
